Investing Across Borders Project

The Investing Across Borders (IAB) project provides indicators of the quality of regulations and efficiency of administrative processes for foreign direct investment (FDI). IAB aims to identify good practices in investment policy design and implementation, and to stimulate and guide investment policy reforms. The indicators are based on an annual survey of law firms and other professional services providers, and combine an evaluation of the quality of legal frameworks and their implementation and enforcement in practice. The first report on 87 economies is scheduled for launch in spring/summer 2010. The report will comprise the following four topics: (1) investing across sectors, (2) starting a foreign business, (3) accessing land, and (4) arbitrating disputes.
