The CSR component exclusively focused on the textile and apparel industry in the Qualified Industrial Zones (QIZs). Its main objective was to assist the Government of Jordan to develop policies and incentives to reduce inspection and private auditing burden on manufacturers, while promoting systemic improvements in labor practices and continued competitiveness.
The project is designed to identify and test strategies and activities that will most likely improve social and environmental conditions and also provide business benefits to the ICT supply chain. The strategy will initially focus on Shenzhen because it is a popular sourcing destination for the sector and it has already taken steps to improve its CSR environment. The project can potentially be expanded to other regions once its effectiveness is tested.

FIAS conducted an advisory project on Economic Competitiveness and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with focus on mining and tourism.
The objective was to identify public policies and instruments that affect investment decisions and that have the greatest potential to attract responsible investors and buyers to Sierra Leone.
Based on a request from the Ministry of Finance in December 2005, FIAS commissioned three studies concerning a) The competitiveness of regional integration of the apparel chain, b) Increased market access to the EU and South African markets, and c) Corporate Social Responsibility in Lesotho’s Apparel Industry.
The objective was to improve the competitiveness of the Salvadoran economy by integrating corporate social responsibility more successfully into the policies and practices of key industries, focused in this pilot stage on coffee, sugar and apparel sectors.
