CIDA-INC: Engaging the Private Sector in Development
The Program contributes to CIDA's key results for developing countries in the areas of economic well-being, social development and environmental sustainability. Economic Well-being: INC supports the increased productivity of local firms and economies through capital, technology, and knowledge transfer; new sustainable livelihoods for individuals through skilled job opportunities; and local access to improved infrastructure and infrastructure services. Social Development: INC helps Canadian firms operating in developing countries with the costs of integrating gender and other social considerations into their ventures, and considers the needs of local communities in its decision-making. Environmental Sustainability: INC helps Canadian firms operating in developing countries with the costs of promoting a cleaner environment, supports the provision of Canadian environmental expertise to developing countries, and integrates environmental considerations into its decision-making. |
