Governance Frameworks and Tools for Effective Regulatory Reform
The Better Regulation for Growth (BRG) Program is a joint initiative of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and FIAS, the investment climate advisory service of the World Bank Group.
The objective of the BRG is to improve the regulatory and investment climate in developing countries, thereby stimulating private sector investment, economic growth and poverty reduction. The BRG program aims to achieve this by developing and disseminating for the first time widely practical and operational guidance that will help developing countries design and implement effective regulatory reform programs.
FIAS is managing the BRG Program, guided by a Steering Committee with representatives from the sponsoring organizations (World Bank Group, DFID, and the Netherlands). An Advisory Panel of leading experts and practitioners has participated in the review of the Program's outputs.
The BRG Program has resulted in the preparation of a series of policy papers on regulatory governance issues and case studies. This web portal is part of the BRG Program and contains all reports and related references from the Program.
